To do something new, you have to stop doing something old.

Step to the Future challenges the wasteful footwear system by exploring production methods that break free from traditional assembly lines. Dozens of stitched and glued components are replaced by one flexible material, that integrates key properties.

Localized manufacturing can be a driver for innovation across product, process, position, and paradigm. This hands-on, future-oriented exploration culminates in a prototyped case study.
